Breaking glass ceilings: Our role models

It’s our privilege to welcome a diverse range of inspiring and talented visitors and speakers to the School each term – these provide the girls with access to successful and inspirational role models, whose achievements they can aspire to emulate.

A focal point of this is our annual Celebrating Inspiring Women festival, held to mark International Women’s Day: every year, up to 20 invited female speakers address the girls on a diverse range of topics, and the girls throughout have a free choice of which talks to attend.

We’re proud to have four current Ambassadors, each of whom visit Roedean regularly to work with the girls at all levels: Kate and Helen Richardson-Walsh, who won Olympic Gold at Rio 2016, are our Sports Ambassadors; our Creative Arts Ambassador is Anabela Chan, who is an alumna and a hugely successful jewellery designer; and Dr Suzie Imber, our STEM Ambassador, is Professor of Space Physics at Leicester University.

We’re grateful to all those who visit the School to encourage the girls to have high aspirations and inspire them to work hard to realise their dreams.
