All-Weather Pitch

Roedean is very excited about its inspirational flood-lit all-weather pitch which opened this year. The all-weather pitch has already improved the standard of sport at Roedean through greater training and playing time. It means that fixtures will rarely be cancelled due to the weather, we are able to host a greater number of matches, and we will not have to travel to off-site pitches. Having a floodlit pitch also allows the girls to train and play in the evenings all year round.

The all-weather pitch can be used, not only for Hockey, but for hosting a full range of sports including Lacrosse, Cricket, Athletics, PE, fitness sessions and after-school clubs. Combined with the new half-size 5-a-side football pitch, the resurfacing and floodlighting of existing courts, and general site improvements, this is a transformational investment in sport. Great care and consideration has been taken to address the local landscape, deliver high quality yet cost effective facilities, and respect the environment through energy efficiency.
