Open Days and Visits

Visiting the school and meeting the girls is the best way to find out what makes Roedean special.  A visit during term-time is the best option, since you will experience the school in full swing with students and staff going about their daily life.  Visitors often comment on the dynamic, positive, and happy atmosphere of the school, as well as the open and relaxed manner of the girls. You can either come to an Open Day or come on an individual visit – for both, you will be taken on a tour of the school and boarding houses with a student of approximately the same age as your daughter, you will meet the Headmaster, and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions of the Senior Registrar.

Open Days

An Open Day is an ideal occasion for an initial visit, and it is designed to give you a broad overview of the school and an opportunity to meet staff and girls. The verdict from one of our parents at a recent Open Day was ‘Gobsmackingly fantastic!’ and we are proud that the girls and the staff present the school wonderfully, and the girls come across as natural and happy. Usually, during Open Day, you would have the opportunity to explore Roedean, hear from some of the students and the Headmaster, and also experience some incredible performances by the girls. We have tried to recreate this experience as best we can in the current circumstances for you and hope you enjoy learning more about Roedean at our Virtual Open Day.

What the Parents Say…

What a day indeed! May I say a huge thanks to you all for such a wonderful Open Morning at Roedean on Saturday. Please extend my thanks to the girls who were undoubtedly the stars of the show. Every pupil I spoke to seemed so well-rounded, confident and welcoming. They really were the embodiment of ‘the spirit of Roedean’.

Individual Visits

Individual visits can also be arranged to give you a more detailed and personalised experience, which is more suited to a second or subsequent visit.

  • There will be a chance to meet the Director of Admissions, Mrs Diana Banham, or another member of the admissions team to discuss your daughter’s application in greater detail.

  • The visit will also include a tour of the school and of a boarding house.

Taster Days

Taster Days can easily be arranged for girls hoping to join the school.  The Director of Admissions creates a tailor-made programme, matching visitors with Roedean girls who share the same interests and aspirations.

The girls take part in lessons, perhaps play some sport, enjoy a drama or music lesson, and meet their future classmates, ensuring that the transition to Roedean is a smooth as it can possibly be. Seeing our teachers in action, enjoying time with the girls, and feeling the buzz in the corridors is the best way to decide if Roedean is the right fit for you.

To enquire about a taster day, please contact our Director of Admissions, Mrs Diana Banham, on or 01273 667626.
