Roedean is always delighted to consider bright, high-achieving students who seek to enter top UK schools and world-class universities. This is a rolling admissions process, and we welcome applications at any time of the year; however, we advise early application during the Autumn Term preceding the September of entry in order to ensure boarding places are available.
Each year, strong overseas and international candidates join the school in the same way as those from the UK. A reasonable level of fluency in English and good understanding of it from the outset are expected, so that the girls can access the curriculum well and make good progress. We do however offer a great deal of extra language support to our international students where it is needed.
Roedean is delighted to launch prestigious new awards for overseas students. At Roedean, scholarships are available to new entrants to the school in order to recognise academic excellence or musical ability, in order to help extend and challenge girls to fulfil their potential; all scholars at Roedean are fully involved in our Scholars’ programme.
One-Year GCSE Programme
The Roedean one-year GCSE Programme will provide your daughter with a springboard to success in the British education system, academically, socially, and culturally. After one year at Roedean School following the programme, your daughter will have a strong level of fluency in English, be confident in her abilities, and excited about her future.
The one-year programme is specifically designed to provide a range of subject experience leading to qualifications which will prepare girls for entry into the mainstream A Level curriculum at Roedean. This provides the unique benefit of being able to remain in the British system for A Levels and later British University entry.
The programme combines an intensive English and rigorous academic curriculum. Your daughter will be offered bespoke lessons to prepare for the different expectations of the British examination system, as well as joining mainstream lessons both to help with the development of her English, as well as to be a fully integrated member of her year group.
If you wish to make an application, please contact Mrs Diana Banham, Director of Admissions, on 01273 667576 or email@example.com.
Pre-A Level and Pre-GCSE Programmes
The Roedean International Programmes are one-year gateway programmes at Roedean Moira House, Eastbourne, to prepare overseas girls for entry into the mainstream curriculum at British schools.
These programmes are specifically designed for East Asian students, to enable the girls to reach the level of English language required to access the British curriculum:
Roedean Pre-GCSE Programme – for girls aged 12, 13, or 14
Roedean Pre-A level Programme – for girls aged 15 or 16
The programmes combine an intensive English and rigorous academic curriculum with the Roedean Diploma, which is a co-curricular programme of activities, life skills, and experiences within and beyond the curriculum.
The Roedean Pre-GCSE and Pre-A Level programmes are provided at Roedean International, which is at our Roedean Moira House Campus, Eastbourne. Your daughter’s academic progress and pastoral care will be overseen by Roedean’s Head of International Studies. Each programme will be restricted to two classes of between 8 and 15 girls.
If you wish to make an application, please contact Mrs Alexa Barlow, Registrar, on 01323 636821 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
