My name is Carmel Carragher and I am the Head of Sixth Form, responsible for girls in Years 12 and 13 (known at Roedean as Six One and Six Two).
I oversee the role of the tutors and liaise closely with the House staff. We all work together as a team to ensure that your daughter will quickly feel at home at Roedean, both in and out of the classroom.
You will find the House staff extremely welcoming. They will do everything possible to assist your daughter, whether she is a day girl or a boarder. In addition, each girl will be a member of a tutor group. Tutors register their tutor groups twice a day and offer full academic support to their tutees. Your daughter will have the same tutor for the next two years.
We hope that your daughter will take full advantage of our facilities and tuition. A varied and fulfilling extra-curricular programme will be rewarding and is an important part of school life and of her wider development in preparation for university.
Sixth form girls are currently not required to wear a school uniform, although this is a point under discussion for future years. Instead, we ask that your daughter dresses appropriately for a working environment (see dress code below).
I look forward to meeting your daughter in September and getting to know her over the next two years.
