02/04/2015Tatler (May 2015) – The Swankiest Boarding House In The World
“Roedean now has the swankiest boarding facilities in the country, perhaps in the universe”, says journalist Georgina Blackwell.
The article features the newly completed interior design of the four main boarding houses by architects BucklyGrayYeoman who maintained the integrity of the schools period features while working with modern fixtures and fittings created by current contemporary designers.
There are comments from the current students who were very much involved thoughout the design process and all of whom now feel the “new super-plush dorms have surpassed the purely aesthetic”.
“It does make it so much easier being away from home,’ says Bella Spinks. ‘I didn’t leave this whole weekend. You don’t feel like you have to go out”.

27/02/2015The Sunday Times / Style - A Lesson in Design
“Using bold colour and cool british designers, Roedean has redefined boarding school for the 21st Century”, says journalist Giovanna Dunmall.
Following our recent completion of the Grade II listed boarding houses at one of the UK’s leading independent girls’ schools, BuckleyGrayYeoman’s interiors for Roedean School have been unveiled with an exclusive in The Sunday Times Style Magazine. This is the first time The Style Magazine has ran a full non-domestic interiors feature.
The article features a ‘Girl’s-Eye View’ which includes interviews with current students about how the refurbishment has changed the way they study & socialise, along with an interview with Annie Sheaf (former student and President of the Old Rodeanian’s Association).
“In my day, the rooms were cold, there was no colour and we had thin mattresses…the houses never felt like a home from home…now the houses are absolutely stunning, extremely comfortable and plush, offering everything a girl needs”, says Annie Sheaf.
