GCSE success at Roedean girls independent school

GCSE results

2012 has been an excellent year for GCSE results.

  • 33% of grades were at A*
  • 62% were at A*-A
  • 84% at A*-B

Iona Tarbet, formerly of Thomas A Becket Middle School, Worthing, was delighted that her hard work paid off, gaining 13 A*s.

Grace Sorrell, the 2013 Old Roedeanians' Association (ORA) Scholar, achieved 9 A*s and 2A passes.

23% of students achieved A*/A in every subject they sat.

Mrs Frances King, Headmistress, said, ‘I am thrilled by these excellent results. This is a close-knit and hard-working year group who can feel very proud of what they have achieved.’

The school’s new Strategy for Teaching and Learning (STL) was launched in September 2012to ensure that a stimulating academic environment remains the lynchpin of the Roedean experience. The keynote speaker, in March 2013, will be Professor Dylan Wiliam, Institute of Education
