Twelve children from Sussex schools joined eight Roedeanians for the painting workshop, called 'Windows on the World'.
As Clare carefully encouraged each individual child, they gradually gained in confidence to produce some delightful pieces at the end of the weekend.
'We also used the workshop for talent identification', said Mrs Stanway, Head of Art. 'Some of the children here may be young, but I have seen some genuine artistic talent this weekend. One in particular showed a strong sense of colour, another was incredibly at ease in the studio. We would certainly welcome a scholarship application from some of these girls.'
