Exhausted but jubilant, Matt Rhodes arrived over the finishing line at the Brighton Marathon. Blind and paralysed on one side, he completed the gruelling 26 mile run over two days and U3 went to cheer him on as he finished.
We arrived at the sea 20 minutes before Matt was due to finish [writes Ellie Holmes] so we could have lunch on the beach before he arrived.
Matt had many supporters waiting for him, including his family and beautiful black Labrador guide dog, Carlo.
When he eventually reached the finishing line there were great cheers and lots of cameras flashing everywhere!
Matt showed inspirational determination and raised a lot of money for St Dunstan's, the charity supporting blind ex-Service men and women.
Once the crowd had dispersed and Matt had left, we walked to the pier for ice cream and doughnuts, yum! Then it was time to head back to school.
