Saatchi School’s Gallery and Sunday Telegraph Art Prize.

    16/12/2011

This is the third year that Roedean students’ work has been entered for the online Saatchi School’s Gallery and Sunday Telegraph Art Prize.

“In our first year we were very excited to have one of our student’s (Mimi Connolly) sculptures chosen for a display in the Saatchi Gallery itself – a great honour.  The pieces we have selected for this year’s entry are the cream of the crop from our last Summer GCSE and A Level students.” Sarah Ellis, Textiles and Art Teacher

There is a really diverse mixture of work going on at Roedean from digital art, craft and installation sculpture using mixed media to fashion, fine art and graphics.  Students go on to take courses in fashion, architecture and product design to name but a few.

A first prize of £10,000 will be awarded to the winning school's art department, with a further £2,000 given to the winning pupil to be spent on art and computer equipment. Two further runner-up prizes of £5,000 each will be awarded to the second and third placed schools, with a further £1,000 to each of the winning pupils.
