Open Morning Success

Last Saturday’s Open Morning proved to be very popular and was extremely ‘buzzing’ and busy.  Our visitors all left us with positive feedback and we hope to be welcoming them back in the future.  We also couldn’t have planned better weather for the event.

Our Masterclasses were in high demand with our visitors.  The Drama department offered girls a chance to study Romeo and Juliet on stage in Roedean’s 320-seat theatre. The group looked at the prologue that outlines the story and created images of key moments in the plot whilst wearing the most wonderful masks.

The English department helped to unleash the inner writer in our young visitors by blindfolding them and getting them to touch every-day objects in order to reappraise them and write with originality and sensitivity.

Meanwhile the Science department, using models to find out about the structure of the molecule that controls how cells work, actually carried out a practical and isolated the DNA from peas!

If you were unable to come or if you would like to arrange another visit to the school, please telephone the Admissions office on 01273 667500 to make an appointment.

Our next Open Morning will be held on Saturday, 3 March 2012 at 10am.
