Lord Coe wishes U19 netballers luck ahead of Saturday’s National Schools Netball Finals

17/03/2011

Seb Coe, taking time away from his Olympic responsibilities, was watching his daughter play at Roedean in the IAPS Finals this weekend. Nursing a cup of tea on a bright but cool spring day, he congratulated Roedean’s U19 netball squad on their astonishing tournament success so far.

The team, who became the South of England Under 19 champions at the Regional Finals in January, will be competing against 18 other schools at the Finals.

It is the very first time that Roedean has got through to the finals. Their netball coach, Mrs Alison Goulet is delighted with their achievements so far.

“I am very proud that the girls have got to this stage.  Caitlin and the team have worked incredibly hard and are an enthusiastic, strong and confident team.” says Mrs Goulet.

England Netball, the governing body for the country's most popular female team sport, regards the National Schools Finals as one of the most prestigious events in the netballing calendar.
