Congratulations to the 1st Netball team who won the Sussex Round of the U19 National Schools Netball tournament, held at the G4 Netball Centre in East Grinstead.

Twelve teams took part. On their way to the final the Roedean team beat Brighton College, Sion School, St Bedes, BHASVIC and Ardingly College.

The final match was against Imberhorne School, East Grinstead, which they convincingly won 11-8.

The team will now represent Sussex in the Southern Round of the competition, which takes place on 30 January at High Wycombe.

Well done to Captain Astrid Ainley and Coach Alison Goulet who led the team to this superb victory. The victorious players were: Clare Stokes, Astrid Ainley, Edwina Wilson, Caitlin Boyland, Nkem Ike-Nwabuoku, Chi-Chi Ike- Nwabuoku, Canitta Hart, Peju Adeasun and Ope Salau.

The Roedean U14 team then tried their best to emulate this success in their tournament. They too played Imberhorne for a place in the Southern Round after winning their section in the draw, but this time Imberhorne were victorious with a scoreline of 11-6.
