'Bumblebee decline and conservation'

06/06/2012

Dr Brown's work has attracted considerable media attention in the last week on the BBC and in newspapers, as he is part of the project to reintroduce the short haired bumblebee to the UK. You can read more at http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-18194778.

Dr Brown will give a talk on 'Bumblebee decline and conservation'. It will focus on the ecological and economic value and importance of bumblebees as major pollinators of plants, evidence for bumblebee decline in the UK and globally, attempts to understand the causes of these declines, and conservation actions that can be taken to reverse this decline, with a special focus on the recent reintroduction of a UK extinct bumblebee species to Dungeness.

Dr Brown will talk to the girls on Wednesday June 20th from 5 – 6pm in the Theatre.

Parents are most welcome to attend.
