600 girls come to Roedean for IAPS netball tournament

600 girls from 61 schools travelled from across Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Gloucestershire to Roedean on 3 and 4 March for the annual Under 11s and Under 13s regional netball tournament organised by IAPS (The Independent Association of Prep Schools).

In bright and breezy weather hundreds of enthusiastic parents and staff watched the matches from the sidelines and cheered on their eager daughters and school teams.

Delia Saunders, who organised the event along with Mrs Philippa McCarthy, said: “It has been a very successful two days.  The whole setting at Roedean has been ideal, the schools have found getting to Brighton very easy.  Roedean's twelve netball courts have been great; they have fantastic views and are very close to the super refreshments at Horizons café.

In total, over 500 games were played during the tournament. Congratulation to The Study Prep School, Wimbledon, who won the Under 11s, and our neighbours Brighton College who won the Under 13s.

Both will return to Roedean for the National Finals this coming weekend.
