Taster Days

You only get once chance at education, so you need to get it right for your son or daughter from the word go. The best way to decide is to see a school in action on a normal working day. For us, too, taster days give a brilliant insight into a child’s character to help everyone decide if it is the right place.

At Roedean Junior School, the format of a taster day depends on your son or daughter’s age. In Year 1 and Year 2, your child spends the whole day with his or her prospective classmates and our teachers give an overall assessment at the end. He or she will also take a Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning tests.

In Years 3 to 6, the Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning tests are taken first and then your child is invited back to spend the day with their prospective classmates. Again, we rely on our teachers’ assessment and also a report from the current school.

The Head, Mr May, sees all prospective students and parents.
