The view from the Junior School through Kemp Town to the sea

Location

The Junior School is located on Eastern Road in the quirky Kemp Town neighbourhood in Brighton. It is right next door to the hospital, one of the biggest employers in the city, and an ideal drop-off for commuters coming into work from the eastern suburbs.

Gloucester House is where our Pre-Prep and Prep departments are housed, opened in 2006. Large windows and a sea view give a light, airy feel. The children can run off their energy on a large field at the front of the school or in the spacious playgrounds at the back. The whole site is protected from the main road by a traditional flint wall.

The facilities

As we encourage academic achievement from our youngest children upwards, we need specialist teachers and great facilities. So inside Gloucester House there is a large multi-purpose hall, an extensive IT suite, design and technology workshop, music room and library.

Naturally, the junior school can also use all the main Roedean facilities such as the theatre, swimming pool and excellent science labs. We think this will give our boys and girls a real edge in developing a genuine love of learning.

The only time our children will need to leave Gloucester House is to walk, escorted, a little way across the site to the dining room for lunch.
