Most of the boys and girls at Roedean Junior School have grown up in and around Brighton. However, we do have a small number of international children who come to experience a UK prep school, often for just a term or a year, typically while a parent is working at the Royal Sussex County hospital next door.
There are a couple of changes to the standard admission process for children applying to a British prep school from outside the UK: At Roedean:
If you are not accompanying your son or daughter to Brighton, you will need to appoint a local guardian who speaks good English. Normally your child would live with the guardian, who must be available in case of emergency. This is a standard requirement in most UK independent schools.
If you feel ready to find out more about the admissions process now, request the prospectus. If you already have some queries, contact Roedean. If you are based overseas but know when you will be back in the UK, why not join us at an Open Day? or make a private visit?
