In a difficult global economy, UK private school fees are a significant investment and a hotly debated topic. However, given the specialist teaching and extensive facilities the children use at the senior school, the junior school fees represent great value for money.

Payment of fees is in full by the first day of term. Fee accounts are prepared at the end of each term for payment by the start of the following term by bank transfer or by cheque direct to the school.
The school operates a pre-paid (composition) fees scheme, by which parents can pay a lump sum in advance for the school fees (minimum two years) thereby receiving a discount. A quotation can be obtained from the Finance Bursar.
The school will give parents one term’s notice of fee increases; however under some circumstances it may be necessary to review fees at other times. Should a parent or guardian wish to withdraw a pupil as a result of such an increase, a term’s notice must still be given.
A surcharge will be made on accounts not received by the first day of each term. The current rate of surcharge is Bank Base Rate plus 4%.
£100 is payable with the application, and is non-refundable.
The following deposits are payable on acceptance of a place at Roedean Junior School:
Reception to Pre-Prep - £600, plus £400 on transfer to Lower Prep 3
Lower Prep 3 to Transition - £1,000
On transfer to the Senior School the difference between £1,000 and half a term's fees will be payable
All deposits are refunded (without interest) after the pupil has left the school and after all fees and ‘extras’ have been settled. If the pupil does not take up the accepted place, the deposit is non-refundable.
Written permission of the parent or guardian is required before a boy or girl can be accepted for tuition in an extra subject/activity. Since payment has to be made to the teachers concerned, subjects may be terminated only at the end of a term, for which half of one term's notice in writing is required. If a subject/activity is discontinued during a term, the whole of that term's charge will be payable.
Where pupils require private academic coaching, this is a matter for separate written contract between the parents and the school.
Once a place in the school has been accepted, at least one full term’s notice of withdrawal of a boy or girl must be given to the Head in writing, irrespective of whether the boy or girl has joined the school or not. If the required notice is not given, fees for the next term will be charged.
