In difficult economic times, fees for private school are a significant investment and a hotly debated topic. Roedean’s premium fees reflect the world class educational experience our girls have, leading to the fantastic academic results they achieve and the resilient characters they develop.
For international applicants, the weaker pound means that private school costs have decreased by almost 15% in two years.

Payment of fees is in full by the first day of term. Fee accounts are prepared at the end of each term for payment by the start of the following term by bank transfer or by cheque direct to the school.
The school operates a pre-paid (composition) fees scheme, by which parents can pay a lump sum in advance for the school fees (minimum two years) thereby receiving a substantial discount. A quotation can be obtained from the Finance Bursar (dab@roedean.co.uk).
The school will give parents one term’s notice of fee increases; however under some circumstances it may be necessary to review fees at other times. Should a parent or guardian wish to withdraw a girl as a result of such an increase, a term’s notice must still be given.
A surcharge will be made on accounts not received by the first day of each term. The current rate of surcharge is Bank Base Rate plus 4%.
We will also recover any administrative fees associated with any debt and pass on the costs of any debt recovery agents that we may instruct.
£150 is payable with the application, and is non-refundable.
For Uk-based parents, a deposit of half a term's fee is paid to accept the offer at Roedean.

All deposits are refunded (without interest) after the pupil has left the school and after all fees and ‘extras’ have been settled. If the pupil does not take up the accepted place, the deposit is non-refundable.

Written permission of the parent or guardian is required before a girl can be accepted for tuition in an extra subject/activity. Since payment has to be made to the teachers concerned, subjects may be terminated only at the end of a term, for which half of one term's notice in writing is required. If a subject/activity is discontinued during a term, the whole of that term's charge will be payable.
Full details of subjects/activites offered are published seperatly.
Where pupils require private academic coaching, this is a matter for separate written contract between the parents and the school.
Once a place in the school has been accepted, at least one full term’s notice of withdrawal of a girl must be given to the Headmistress in writing, irrespective of whether the girl has joined the school or not. If the required notice is not given, fees for the next term will be charged.
Requests for change of status from boarding to day or vice versa should also be made giving one term’s notice.
