Huw May, Headmaster of Roedean Junior school welcoming pupils

Headmaster's welcome

Welcome to Roedean Junior School, part of the Roedean family.

Recently, the Good Schools Guide described the school as a ‘stunningly good prep school’ with ‘inspirational teaching’.

Alternatively, we sometimes describe it as a classic ‘village school’; very friendly, and of a size where everyone knows each other as they drop off their children at the front door. Built in 2006, the bright and modern building houses the Nursery, Pre-Preparatory and Preparatory departments.

This allows our pupils to have a seamless primary education from the age of three to eleven on the same site. Reflecting the Roedean philosophy, each child’s individual talents - whether academic, artistic, or sporting – are nurtured to achieve the highest possible standards.

Consequently, when a pupil leaves Roedean Junior School they will flourish in any academic environment. Already, three of our Year 6 pupils have been offered Awards from the Senior School.
