Roedean is always delighted to consider bright, high-achieving students who seek to enter top UK schools and other world-class universities.
A reasonable level of fluency in English and good understanding of it from the outset are expected, so that the girls can access the curriculum well and make good progress. We do however offer a great deal of extra language support to our international students where it is needed.
Those applying from outside the United Kingdom can apply via an educational agency or directly. In order to ensure boarding places are available, we advise early application during the Autumn Term preceding the September entry.
- Entry is assessed by means of entrance exams in English, Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning (non-native speakers wishing to apply for the Language Pathway course and Sixth Form also sit the Oxford Online Placement Test). These can be sat at either British Council, agents’ offices, or the girl’s current school.
- Skype interview will be arranged for successful candidates to complete the admissions’ process.
Roedean is delighted to launch a prestigious new award for overseas students. Our new academic scholarships for academic excellence, or musical ability, will provide a scholarship or musical programme to help extend and challenge girls to fulfil their potential.
These scholarships are available to overseas students with outstanding ability and potential, who are academically able, and who may also be talented musicians. These are honorary scholarships which carry a small award for scholarship-related activities . All scholars at Roedean are fully involved in our Scholars programme.
If you have opportunity to visit the school, please do make every effort, because you will see that Roedean is a happy and dynamic environment, providing an excellent all-round education.
One-Year GCSE Programme
The One-Year GCSE Programme is designed as a foundation for A Level study for Overseas girls. It leads to GCSE qualifications in one year, and is a preparation course for those wishing to improve and develop their English language skills before beginning A Level courses. It also incorporates a cultural awareness element, in order the acquaint students from abroad with British values and develop an understanding of the traditions of the country.
